History

Formika has been operating on the market for 30 years.

  • 1978 - formation of the company. Starting with manufacturing car parts under the difficult conditions of the non-market economy.
  • 1991 - Formika, as the first company in Poland, starts manufacturing plastic packaging for food industry. These mainly include containers for yoghurts, cheeses, creams etc., manufactured using the pressure and injection method and further overprinted using the dry offset technique. Shortly, the company wins confidence of many clients.
  • 1996 – the company assumes the leading position on the Polish market.
  • 1997 – sale of all shares to the Austrian company Greiner.
  • 1998 – a new Polish company named Formika is formed, with 100% of the Polish capital. It starts printing on aluminium, paper and other laminate packaging using the UV flexo technology. By that time, no Polish manufacturer had tried this technology and only the traditional solvent flexo technique had been in use, providing much lower quality the UV method.
  • 6 August 2006 – the sudden death of the founder, idea - giver and the President of the Company, Mr. Jerzy Przywuski. He will always stay in the company’s staff’s memory as a man full of joy of life and energy, as a man of great influence, a specialist, and a man of vision. The company still remains in the hands of the family and is managed by its members.
